Google Play Store for Android TV Gets a Brand-New Update

One of the best things about using an Android powered smartphone instead of an iPhone is getting access to Google’s latest updates. The Android parent loves to release small, but important software updates for all its key apps and the Google Play Store for Android TV is the latest one to be updated. The update for Google Play Store (Android TV) has arrived today and it contains a bunch of high priority software improvements.

Google Play Store (Android TV) 13.1.31 Update

The new update is exclusive to smart TVs that are running on Google’s Android operating system and it improves the way Google Play Store works. In case there is someone who doesn’t know what Google Play Store does, which is highly unlikely, this is the platform where Android users can find all the apps, games and services that they need. Not just that, but the Google Play Store is also used to automatically update third-party apps and this is why the new 13.1.31 update is so important.

Android Package Kit

The difference between Google and other software developers is the fact that Google launches its updates first in the form of APK (android package kit). This format gives eager Android users a chance to get their hands on the updates ahead of everyone else. Therefore, APK updates such as the latest Google Play Store (Android TV) 13.1.31 update need to be manually downloaded and installed.

On the other hand, if having to manually download and install an update on your smartphone or smart TV, then you should be happy to know that Google is also going to roll it out OTA (over the air). However, it’s going to take a while before Google starts doing this because the Android parent needs to receive feedback from beta testers first.
