Nexus 7 vs. Kindle Fire HDX 7 – Best Design and Performance Comparison

Design

The weigh of these two tablets is similar to the Nexus 7 being almost undetectably lighter and thinner. While looking at both of them at the same time, you would not observe it. One difference between these tablets is that the Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch is more extensive and the Nexus 7 is a bit taller.

The Kindle Fire HDX feels better in your hand thanks to the nylon and composite construction while the Nexus 7 is not as easy to be held due to its matte plastic body. However, this difference is not that important.

Performance

If what you are looking for in a tablet is raw graphics and computing performance than you should avoid the Google Nexus 7 and stick to the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch. Both tablets have four cores, and Qualcomm manufactures their processor. Again the tablet from Amazon is better than the one from Google because it has a newer design that features faster graphics and its processor runs at higher clock speed.

Display

It is not easy to compare this thing about the two tablets because both of them have great screens with a display resolution of 1920×1080, a color gamut with great width and the color is bright. The fact is that this is another difference that goes undetected by users that are not so experienced in comparing this type of devices. In this category as well, Amazon’s tablet is way better than Google’s, a fact proved when measurements are made with professional gear. For the average user, both tablets are good enough because they offer a full sRGB color gamut.

If you are still wondering which tablet is better between these two, you should better stick to the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7-inch.
