Xiaomi is one of the most popular smartphone manufacturers and the MIUI is loved by millions of fans around the world. The problem is that in the recent years the popular OEM has started to push ads even in the core apps of the device. Many users may find these ads invasive and annoying.
This guide will show you how to remove ads from several MIUI apps.
Mi File Explorer
Open the app and tap on the menu icon. Go to Settings. Now go to the About section and tap on the Recommendations tab. Tap on the button and you will no longer receive ads while you are using the app.
While most users prefer to use the Google Chrome but there are some that like the Mi Browser. In this case users will encounter ads before they visit a website.
Tap on the menu icons and look for the Settings section. Scroll until you find the Advanced tab and tap on it. Look for the Top sites order tab and tap on it. Tap on the Receive Recommendations option in order to disable the ads
Many thought that this was quite a low move but Xiaomi can earn serious money from ads. They usually appear after using the cleaner function of the apps. In this case you will have to tap on the Settings icon that can be found in the upper-right corner of the app. Find the Receive Recommendations tab and like on it like in the previous cases. You will have to repeat the step in the settings menu that can be found under the Cleaner option.
The process is quick and painless like in the previous cases. Go to Menu, tap on Setting, tap again on Advanced Settings and scroll until you find the Receive Recommendations options.

Yes, you may find ads even inside app folders. In order to remove them you can tap on the folder’s name and disable the Promoted apps option.
Those that wish to no longer receive personalized ads are also able to disable ad tracking. Go to Settings/Additional Settings/ Privacy/Ad services and toggle of the Personalized ad recommendations option.
