iOS 12.0 – 12.1 Sandbox Escape Has Been Published – There’s Hope for an iOS 12 Jailbreak

Many of us are probably waiting impatiently for an iOS 12 jailbreak to be released, and even though nothing has happened until now, there is some news that might give us some hope. During the last couple of weeks, we’ve heard about several attempts to create an exploit for the iOS jailbreak, but unfortunately none of them were successful yet. The only thing that we knew so far is that a security researcher, known as @SorryMyBad on Twitter, is expected to release an exploit soon. Now it seems that we have some exciting news regarding the iOS 12 jailbreak.

Recent news gives hope to the jailbreak community

It appears that an exploit was already being developed continuously, so this is great news for the jailbreak community. This exciting report comes from Redmond Pie, from where we find out about a powerful iOS/macOS Safari sandbox escape that was recently published, and which seems to affect iOS 12.0 through iOS 12.1. Due to this recent activity, users have started being extremely hopeful that the iOS 12 jailbreak is finally going forward.

Users are getting quite impatient

The jailbreak community is eagerly waiting for something to happen and some Twitter users actually begged @SorryMyBad to help the whole community, since there have been so many unsuccessful previous attempts from several popular security researchers and developers.

So, at the present time, the latest detail that was released is this iOS and macOS Safari sandbox escape.

What to expect for now

The speculation of many users was that this activity is connected to the Pangu Team IOHID vulnerability, which was released before and is expected to lead in the end to an iOS 12.0 to iOS 12.1 jailbreak pretty soon. For now, it looks like we have some hope for the future, as apart from @SorryMyBad’s attempts to create an exploit, this new published work is the only good news that we’ve had in a while.
