iMessage isn’t just a service, but it’s also a messaging and chatting app for ios devices and Mac computers. One of the features of this app is being able to sync between devices such as the iPhone SE and others.
If you’re chatting or texting someone from your iPhone, you can continue the conversation on your Mac or iPad, but sometimes this syncing process isn’t always smooth sailing as it should be.
You can enjoy the iMessage feature if all your devices are connected to one Apple ID, but if you find your iPhone SE not syncing iMessage, here are some fixes to try.
How to fix iPhone SE not syncing iMessage
Check Message settings on your iPhone and other iOS devices
Check message settings on your iPhone SE ensuring your Apple ID is signed in on Send & Receive. To do this:
- Open Settings>Messages>Send & Receive
- Tap Apple ID for iMessage
- Enter your Apple ID and password
- Wait for validation to complete and you see the email associated with your Apple ID
You can also use these same steps on your iPad and other iOS devices but ensure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID on Send & Receive.
Check settings on Mac computer
Check also that the Messages app for your Mac computer is activated with the same Apple ID. To do this:
- Open Messages>Preferences
- Click Account
If you activated it previously, just check if it uses the same Apple ID like other ios devices. Enable this account should also be checked. If you have never activated it, sign in with the same Apple ID.
Sign out and sign back in again
If you still find your iPhone SE not syncing iMessage, try and sign out from the Messages app and sign back in again. To do this:
- Open Settings>Message
- Go to Send & Receive
- Tap Apple ID and sign out
- Sign in to iMessages again
If you’re using your Mac, open Messages app and click Preferences>Account. Sign out and sign in again.
Edit your Apple ID
Check if the verification phone number you use for your Apple ID is the right one. To do this:
- Visit https://appleid.apple.com
- Log in with your Apple ID
- Under Account Setting, click Edit
- Ensure your email address is the right one set under Reachable At. If not, enter the email and tap Done
