WhatsApp Beta 2.19.82 APK: Dark Mode ‘Tracks’ Spotted

Good things are coming to WhatsApp, and with the features found by WABetaInfo in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.82 code, we are excited to get the incoming dark mode for WhatsApp!

OLED displays have been around for a file, but app developers have been quite slow in creating a darker mode for their apps. Finally, the popular messaging app will get the feature.

The “First Hidden Tracks of the Dark Mode”

In the WABetaInfo report, we see that WhatsApp beta for Android 2.19.82 contains some tracks of Dark mode, but the feature is currently being developed, so it is not available yet:

“WhatsApp is working on this feature in this update in order to ensure the best bug-free experience for you before to enable them for everyone. For this reason, it’s ok if you have updated your WhatsApp version and it is not working for you seen that this feature is under development.”

Dark Mode is already implemented in Settings, but there’s no clue about how the mode will look like in chats:

Looking back at the WhatsApp 2.19.47 beta update, we now understand why the Settings were redesigned – it was so that they can be compatible with the darker color scheme.

For those that want to see how the app will look in Dark Mode, you can check out the iOS Dark Mode, which is actually a dark gray mode. The report notes that the Dark Mode on Android “won’t be OLED friendly but it’s based on a very dark grey color.”

Other beta versions contained code that indicated WhatsApp is working on a new forwarding feature.

WABetaInfo noted that Dark Mode will not be seen in the WhatsApp beta 2.19.82, but that it will appear in the future. If you want to grab the latest WhatsApp update, you can download it from APK Mirror by following this link.
