Last month in February, Samsung launched a new series of budget smartphones, the Galaxy M series. The first budget smartphones were the Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M10, with the last one being the Galaxy M30.
Compared to its sibling, the Galaxy M20 and the Galaxy M10, the Samsung Galaxy M30 does not look very different. Their design is similar, unibody and on the back panel, they come with glass. You will see the difference in the triple-rear camera setup which is aligned on the left top corner, vertically. On the front, it features Infinity U, Samsung’s own cut-out display.
The display of the Samsung Galaxy M30 measures 6.4 inches, and it is a full HD+ Super AMOLED one. Its legibility is pretty satisfactory both outdoor and indoors because it has a vibrant screen. Unfortunately, this phone does not come with the latest version of Android, Android 9 Pie.
Is Samsung Galaxy M30 Better Than Xiaomi Redmi 7 Pro?
Other mid-range phones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and Mi A2 are not as great as the Samsung Galaxy M30, at least when it comes to battery life. The budget phone from Samsung is equipped with a 5,000-mAh battery and mid-range level specifications, including Exynos 7904 Octa, 6 Gb RAM, and 128 Gb of internal storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, for its part, boasts a Snapdragon 675 chipset, 6 Gb of RAM, and up to 128 Gb ROM. Both Samsung Galaxy M30 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro also come with a 4 Gb RAM variant.
The best thing you will get from the Samsung Galaxy M30 is the triple-rear camera setup. Part of this group is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with 123-degree viewing angle, 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 13-megapixel camera with an f/1.9 sensor. If you compare it with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro’s 48-mp dual camera setup, Galaxy M30 pales. However, taking into consideration its given price point, the performance of the cameras on the Galaxy M30 is pretty impressive.
If you are on a budget and you need a smartphone that is good enough for everything, Samsung Galaxy M30 would suit you best. On the other hand, if you target photo quality, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, which is also cheaper than the M30, would be the ideal option.
