Cyberpunk 2077’s Map is Way Denser Than The Witcher 3’s Map, Although Concentrated in a City

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most expected RPG that comes with a fresh and unique gameplay. The title is expected to launch next year, and it is created and developed by the CD Projekt gaming studio.

Cyberpunk 2077’s world seems to be quite huge, but not as huge as The Witcher 3’s when it comes to square footage. The game’s map is slightly smaller than the gaming studio’s fantasy epic, but will be a lot more denser, Richard Borzymowski, the producer of the title said.

If you look only at the surface square kilometers of the map, then Cyberpunk 2077 is indeed a little bit smaller than The Witcher 3’s world. However, the density of the content is taking over the world of The Witcher and ‘squeezing it right in, deleting the wilderness between,” Borzymowski told GamesRadar.

This comes as no surprise, considering that Cyberpunk 2077’s world is mostly set in a city and The Witcher 3 was placed mainly in the countryside. However, it is excellent to know, even roughly, what to expect.

Borzymowski explained that The Witcher series was an open world with large passages and forests located in between smaller cities, and also larger cities like Novigrad. Cyberpunk 207’s gameplay is set in Night City, with the map being an integral part of the environment.

‘It’s essentially a protagonist if you want to call it that, so it has to be denser. It wouldn’t give us the end effect we wanted to achieve if the city wouldn’t be believable…so we packed it full of life,’ the game’s producer added.

Fans already know that Night City is divided into six sectors with no loading screens between them. Gamers also have the possibility to explore the location’s peripheries, known as the ‘Badlands.’

More information on the districts and the gameplay will be revealed next week in a live stream when the developing team will show 15 minutes of the gameplay.
