Cancel Apple Music Subscription From iPhone, iPad and Web

Apple Music subscription

If you no longer want to pay ten bucks every month to stream music services from Apple Music, you can cancel your Apple Music subscription from your iPhone, iPad, or the web. Remember, there’s no free streaming service, so if you decide to cancel, you won’t access music streaming from the app like you would with Spotify or other streaming music services.

Below are the steps to do this from your iPhone/iPad, PC, Mac or Web.

How to Cancel Apple Music Subscription

From iPhone/iPad

  • Open Settings
  • Tap Your Name
  • Now tap iTunes & App Store
  • Tap View Apple ID and log in
  • Now tap on Subscriptions>Apple Music Subscription
  • Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm by tapping Confirm

Note: If you cancel the subscription earlier during your billing cycle, you can keep using the service for the rest of the cycle, but it won’t be renewed in the new month. You can also cancel via Apple Music app by doing this:

  • Go to Apple ID and view account
  • Select Subscriptions
  • Find and cancel Apple Music subscription

From Mac or PC

  • Open iTunes
  • Go to iTunes menu
  • Go to Account>View My Account
  • Log in with your Apple ID associated with the service
  • Find Settings>Subscriptions>Manage
  • Go to Apple Music>Edit
  • Select Cancel and confirm the cancellation

If you cancel Apple Music subscription from one Apple ID from your iPhone or iPad, you don’t have to repeat the process on a different device with the same ID.

From the Web

You can also cancel your subscription via the web by going to the Apple website and check your account and subscriptions.

What Next after Canceling My Apple Music Subscription?

If you don’t need Apple Music again, you can hide it from ios Music app and iTunes on PC or Mac desktop. This will disable the feature and remove it from apps. If you plan on using it again, you don’t have to hide it with an active subscription.

You can still delete it if you won’t need it ever again and remove it from your device, but remember this removes the ability to play local music libraries via Music app on your iPhone/iPad.

If you want alternatives, Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music and many other music streaming services offer free tiers and paid options you can pick from.
