The Google Play Store Gets a New Update

As we already mentioned, the Play Store is one of Google’s biggest priorities when it comes to updates. The latest update for the Play Store sports 13.2.19 version number and it can be downloaded in the form of APK.

Android Package Kit Updates

If this is the first time that you are reading about APK updates, then all you need to know is that this acronym stands for Android Package Kit. Additionally, what makes these APK updates special is the fact that they need to be manually downloaded and installed by Android users themselves.

The only requirements to installing an APK update are to get it from Google’s official APK website and to enable the “Unknown Sources” option which can be found in the Settings panel of any Android powered smartphone. The reason why the “Unknown Sources” option needs to be enabled is because APK updates are not released OTA (over the air) and they don’t come from the Google Play Store.
