PUBG Mobile is currently one of the most popular mobile games in many regions. Further, it has kicked-started a massive mobile gaming community thanks to its high-prize money tournaments. Speaking of which, the PUBG Mobile World League finals have kicked off from today.
And since it has become a highly competitive game, players have been waiting for Tencent to enable gameplay at 90fps. Of course, the higher the frame rate, the smoother the game will run which can give you a slight edge over enemies.
Previously, we reported that some unfortunate Samsung devices lost support for 60fps and 45fps frame rate options. But the opposite has just happened for some OnePlus smartphones.
Several PUBG Mobile players are now reporting (1, 2, 3, 4) that they see the 90fps option in the Graphics settings of the game. It appears that the new frame rate option is available on the OnePlus 8/8 Pro, and the OnePlus 7T/7T Pro. We’ve added a few screenshots of user tweets below:

Even OnePlus India posted a Tweet suggesting that OnePlus users will now be able to play the game in a higher framerate. Here’s the tweet:
Things will look a whole lot smoother from now on. #GameonOnePlus
Unfortunately, it seems as though the 90fps option, even when enabled, does not make the game run with 90fps. It’s possible that a minor in-game update will enable the feature completely soon. Prior to this, 60fps was the max frame rate for all devices.
Moreover, current information suggests the 90fps toggle on PUBG Mobile has arrived via a server-side update. Although you may need to restart your phone if the option does not show up as pointed out by a couple of users:
FYI, the Chinese version of the game, Game of Peace, already has 90fps support. Nevertheless, since this is a fresh development, not all the details are clear at the moment. We will continue to track the situation and will post an update once the official details go live.
Meanwhile, you can check out our OnePlus Android 11 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device. Also, check out the upcoming OxygenOS 11 features that were teased by OnePlus.
