Nobody likes blurry iPhone photos especially when you have the latest model and you’re sure the camera will deliver high quality pictures from your vacation, travel or other occasion. If your iPhone camera seems to be capturing blurry photos, it could be having issues focusing on objects.
Sometimes, however, it could be how you’re taking the photos and not the camera itself, but we’re going to show you how to minimize blurry photos and get clearer shots on your iPhone.
What to do when you get blurry iPhone photos
These steps apply for users of iPhone 7 or 7 plus.
Clean the camera lens
Sometimes your iPhone’s camera lens could have dirt accumulated on it from dust or touching it with fingerprints, and you end up getting blurry images. You can use a soft microfiber cloth and perform simple maintenance on your iPhone to resolve the problem going forward.
Remove the iPhone case
If your iPhone has a case, it could affect the phone’s performance especially the camera, causing it to shake and lose focus. The result is blurry iPhone photos which nobody wants to look at. The phone case can also block the lens, so try and remove it and see if the images are clearer.
Soft reset
A soft reset can help fix the blurry images so take these steps to perform one:
- Press and hold the Power button until the slide to power off message appears on your screen
- Slide the power switch to turn off the phone
- Once it’s off, press and hold the power button again until the Apple logo appears on the screen
- Release the button and let the phone restart

You can also take advantage of your iPhone’s warranty to get a replacement if the problem persists.
