What’s new in Android Q Beta 3?
Dark Theme
Android fans demanded a dark mode for years, and Google has decided to add the feature. Strangely, it is named dark theme, but the functionalities are identical to that offered by other dark modes. A small button located in the Quick Settings menu will allow users to switch between the modes seamlessly.
It is already known that every first-party Android app will be compatible with the new feature at some point, some sooner than others.
Improved gesture navigation
The new gestural system is likely to make a splash since many believe that it shares a large number of similarities with the one used for the iPhone. A large comes in the form of gesture which triggers the back action.
Major security updates
Google has been striving to improve the security features of the Android OS. A new initiative comes in the form of Project Mainline which will allow the company to deliver security updates with the help of the Google Play Store protocol.
Live Caption
A live caption feature will generate a real-time transcript of what is being said in video or audio content by using local machine learning, which means that the content will remain private.
The new Android Q Beta 3 is already available for the Google Pixel ecosystem. Owners of the models mentioned in this article can join the program by visiting the official Android Beta site.
