Redmi Note 9S ARCore support reportedly rolling out; Redmi Note 9 Pro & OnePlus Nord to get it soon

You must have used Google’s ARCore service while capturing pictures of animals by looking them up in the Google search. If you haven’t then you should try it by searching for tiger on Google, tap on the “View in 3D” option then select the “View in your space” option. It’s actually quite cool.

However, if you are unable to view the tiger in your space, it means that your device does not have support for ARCore. Well, the service is currently supported by a relatively small number of devices considering the endless catalog of Android powered devices.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 series has some amazing mid-range devices like the Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro. However, users of the Redmi Note 9 Pro are unable to view the life size tiger model in their space because Google Play services for AR are currently not available for them.

The screenshot shared on the Mi community clearly shows that the user is unable to install Google Play services for AR on their Redmi Note 9 Pro. This is because Google has not yet provided support for ARCore to the device yet.

Fortunately, a moderator has mentioned in the same thread that Google is currently rolling out ARCore support for the Redmi Note 9S. Also, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will get the support in the future. Here’s the comment from the Mi community moderator:

Google is rolling out support to Redmi Note 9S at the moment. It will be available to the Pro version in the near future. Once it’s available, Google will update the AR services once it’s available in your region.

It must be noted that another user has mentioned that they have received support for ARCore on their Redmi Note 9S. However, Google is yet to update its ARCore supported devices page but the comments on the thread clearly indicate that the Redmi Note 9S is receiving ARCore support.

OnePlus Nord is also in line with the Redmi Note 9 Pro to get ARCore support. A staff member from OxygenOS Operations team has stated that the Nord does have ARCore support but it is currently undergoing certification process and the ARCore support will be enabled in the future.

Oneplus Nord does support AR core, the device is under certification process as of now and AR core support will be enabled after certification in the upcoming builds

Thanks

This means that Google is already adding more Android devices in the ARCore support catalog. Meanwhile, if you have received the ARCore support on your Redmi Note 9S, feel free to drop a comment below.
