Last year Netflix’s original teen drama The Society debuted on the streaming platform. This show created by Christopher Keyser was nothing like a regular teen drama series, its unique and different concept continues to be appreciated by the viewers. A series which can potentially influence the whole genre, one of the hottest teen mystery drama TV series out there. On 10 May 2019 first season of the show premiered on Netflix it was an instant hit among the millennials. It has been a year since the first season was released and now fans are hyped up for the season 2. Netflix officially renewed the show for a second season on July 20
A bunch of teens from a local high school returns from their cancelled field trip. On their return, they find everyone is gone or mysteriously missing. West Ham, their town is surrounded by a dense forest with no means to contact the outside world. Initially, they enjoy their freedom from the Societies norms made by adults. But they eventually realize that if an order would not be established then things will fall apart. This group of teenagers must learn to run their own community with their own set of rules to survive.
As a character-driven show, this show indeed has some interesting characters to follow closely. Hopefully, in the next season, we will see, Lexie mature as a leader, what happens to the pairs.
The cast of the show includes Kathryn Newton as Allie Pressman, Gideon Adlon as Becca Gelb, Sean Berdy as Sam Elio, Olivia DeJonge as Elle Tomkins, Alex Fitzalan as Harry Bingham, Kristine Froseth as Kelly Aldrich, Jose Julian as Gordie, Alexander MacNicoll as Luke, Rachel Keller as Cassandra Pressman. All of them are expected to reprise their roles in the next season.
Production work for the season 2 got affected by the pandemic in March. The cast kept posting pics on Instagram from the sets of The Society season 2, so the shooting might get wrapped up on time. Hopefully, season 2 will not get delayed and will premiere soon. We can expect a release in a month or two, or by the end of the year. If you haven’t watched it yet, you have enough to binge-watch all the episodes.
