This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on May 25) follows:
Samsung has been on the forefront when it comes to updating its phones with the latest security patches or the Android 10 update. Back in February, the OEM was quick to release the Android 10 update for the Galaxy A70.
However, as per user reports, the update (BTB9) was pushed for a limited time for a limited set of users. Well, the update was eventually re-released, but this time, for all the users of the Galaxy A70. And as of now, several users across different regions have picked up the update.
Canada was among some of the regions where the update was yet to be served by Samsung on the Galaxy A70 handsets. More importantly, we have reported that the Galaxy A70 users in Canada will be getting the update, starting from May 25.
And going by the latest reports, it seems like Samsung has stuck true to its words because, the OEM is now rolling out the Android 10 update for the users in Canada.
The update has several new features to offer, like Samsung’s very own One UI 2.0 custom UI along with all the Android 10 core features for the Galaxy A70 handset.
What can be a bit weird for the users is that, the update tags along with the February 2020 patchset, which is unlike Samsung’s way of handling security updates.
Anyways, coming back to the Galaxy A70 Android 10 update, it arrives with version number BTC6 and weighs in a massive 2.04 GB in size. As already mentioned it brings February 2020 security patch level.
Several other users have also confirmed that the One UI 2.0 (Android 10) update is indeed rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy A70 devices.
It’s a no brainer, that the update will be arriving via OTA in batches, meaning that not all the Galaxy A70 units will be covered at once. The update has been pushed in a staggered manner.
For those who have not received the notification, can head over to Settings>>About Phone>>Software Update>>Check for updates, and see if there is a new update for your phone or not?
Fortunately, you can make use of the Frija tool to download the latest Android 10 firmware for your Galaxy A70. For those who do not know, it downloads the updates directly from Samsung servers, meaning that your warranty will remain intact.
For those who are worrying about the future and what to know whether the Galaxy A70 will pick up the Android 11 (One UI 3.0) update or not?
Well, as per our expectations, the Samsung Galaxy A70 will grab the One UI 2.1 update and later the One UI 3.0 update. Since this is no any official information, we would advise our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt.
