Going back in time, we see Samsung’s Note flagships over the competition in each department, but with the Note 10, this is not the case anymore. That doesn’t mean Samsung didn’t deliver the right quality product, though. This has been suggested by two test labs, DxOMark and DisplayMate, giving their best ratings to Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus camera and display.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Ruling Over the Huawei P30 Pro
The score given by DxOMark for Samsung Galaxy Note 10’s camera has been 113, which is barely going past the 112 that Huawei achieved with the P30 Pro, and Samsung S10 5G.
The score in the Photo category is below that of the P30 Pro, scoring 118, compared to P30 Pro’s 119, but it’s ascending in the ranks by smashing P30′ performance in the Video Performance category, scoring 101, compared to the 97 of the P30.
DxOMark says it’s the best on the market, but on the other hand, in the eyes of the customers, it’s just a marginal upgrade over the S10 5G.
If we are to ask tech journalists about the best smartphone camera on the market, anyone will say the Pixel 3 is the best, and others might suggest a phone like the iPhone XS Max for Photography purposes, but these two phones are ranked 16 and 10 on DxO’s list, respectively.
One Display to Rule Them All
When it comes to displays, we all know Samsung has no competition, making displays for handset brands like OnePlus, Google, and Apple. That doesn’t mean Samsung will go lower on the display category.
DisplayMate stated that Samsung has dramatically improved the quality of their panels, and emphasizing on color accuracy as well. The displays seem to have a better screen calibration at the factory, making them “visually indistinguishable from perfect.” It is also said that the display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is one of the few to cover 100 percent of the DCI-P3 Color Gamut used in movies.
