Huawei Mate X Foldable Smartphone To Be Launched at the Huawei Developer Conference This Week

The Huawei Developer Conference is getting closer, but aside from many of the exciting announcements the company is planning to do, we already know when their Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone will go on sale.

According to a report on the Chinese website CNMO, we found out that the Huawei Mate X is going to be officially launched at the conference this week. However, buyers will not be able to purchase the foldable smartphone right away.

Huawei Mate X will be available to be purchased in September, and the supply will be limited because the design is quite complex and there are production and supply chain concerns.

Initially, the Huawei Mate X was planned to be launched in June but delayed the sale to perform more tests so that they don’t experience the same issues Samsung had with their Fold. The Mate X has 3C certification, network access license, and has passed the ones needed for the launch.

Huawei Mate X: The “Falcon Wing Design,” Display, and Specs

Unlike the Fold, Huawei Mate X has a different design, called “Falcon Wing Design.” It perfectly folds without leaving a gap. According to Huawei, the foldable phone’s hinge has over 100 components alone!

When unfolded, the Mate X has an 8-inch OLED screen, a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels, and it has quite thin bezels. When folded, it turns into a phone with two displays – one side is 6.6-inch (2480 x 1148 pixels and a 19.5:9 ratio), and the second is 6.38-inch (2480 x 892 pixels and a 25:9 ratio).

Here are some of the most noteworthy specs in terms of performance, memory space, battery, and more.
