iPhone 2020 Models To Come Out With 5G Network Support

With the implementation of 5G networks all over the world, the phone companies are beginning to design phones that support this type of network. Apple is one of these companies and has been expected to release phones that support the 5G network by 2020. A new report suggests this to be the case with the three phones that Apple is planning on releasing iPhone 2020 models with 5G connectivity.

All Three iPhone 2020 Models Would Sport 5G Network Support

Ming-Chi Kuo, a respectable Apple analyst, reported that only two models would support 5G, one phone having 5.4-inch and another one having 6.7-inch, with the third one being a cheaper 6.1-inch successor to the iPhone XR only to support LTE networks.

Kuo revised his report, and now he thinks all of the three iPhone 2020 models will support the 5G network. Not only that, he stated that “Apple has more resource for developing the 5G iPhone after the acquisition of Intel baseband business,” and with that, the prices for Androids that support 5G would lower.

Kuo also says that despite the Intel acquisition, Apple will continue to use Qualcomm modems for their phones that are due to release in 2020.

Is That Necessary Though?

The Apple analyst thinks that the most Android phones will not support the mmWave version of the 5G that offers more speed, but the sub-6GHz variant. This will give the impression to customers that they will need this 5G accessibility in 2020 and that Apple is betting on their customers to pay a bit more for their models to deliver high internet speeds compared to Android phones.

“The key is that consumers will think that 5G is the necessary function in 2020. Therefore, iPhone 2020 models which will be sold at higher prices have to support 5G network for winning more subsidies from mobile operators and consumers’ purchase intention,” Kuo said.
