We are pretty well informed about NBA 2K20 due to many leaks involving gameplay, co-stars, and rating updates. But when it comes to principal rival NBA Live, we’re kind of in the dark. The basketball title from EA has not made any waves since NBA 19.
The company seems very busy with developing other sporting titles, such as Madden and FIFA. Which are crushing with the numbers they’re bringing in revenue and favor.
What is going on with NBA Live 20?
NBA 19 shows a series of big moves in the roster. Moving Kawhi Leonard to the Clippers and Anthony Davis to the Lakers. That’s pretty much it. But such a minor update, instead of a new game, would anger FIFA fans to be sure.
No mention of NBA Live has been made at E3 2019 and there is speculation that EA might be moving the game to a subscription basis. Despite the high price on some of these monthly subscriptions, game streaming is being welcomed by many fans of the sporting series and beyond.
There is no mention of cancellation for NBA Live 20 but there is also no evidence of work currently being done on the title. Other than an Instagram post by DJDTP, stating that music is being done for the game.
EA issues
EA is swamped with work due to the large roster of games it has. The sports division is seeing a lot of work being done on FIFA and Madden. Both of which will see a release in the next couple of months.
The major gaming company still has ups and downs, seeing that its sports series are going very well, along with smash hit Apex Legends. But there are difficulties in keeping the license for Star Wars, as the Battlefront games have been lacking.
