The ROG Phone is the first gaming smartphone manufactured by Asus, and it was announced last year in June. Since then, most fans expected the company to release the Asus ROG Phone 2 by the end of the next month. With that being said, here are the latest details about the successor of the Asus ROG Phone.
Asus ROG Phone 2 display
The screen of the ROG Phone 2 will measure 6.59 inches, and it will be an FHD+ AMOLED display. This might sound familiar to ROG Phone owners because the display and resolution do not differ in the new phone, except that it is more prominent.
The refresh rate though is the most significant upgrade you could be waiting for. The first generation ROG Phone had a refresh rate of 90 Hz while the ROG Phone 2’s will be increased by 30 Hz. The most significant examples of 120 Hz displays are the iPad Pro and Razer Phone 2, but the difference is that they use LCD panels. With that being said a 120 Hz AMOLED display will be found for the first time in a smartphone in the Asus ROG Phone 2.
Asus ROG Phone 2 features and specifications
The new Snapdragon 855+ manufactured by Qualcomm will give the ROG Phone 2 its power. Until another smartphone is launched, this one will keep the title for the most powerful Android phone. However, they might be a chance for better phones such as the Black Shark and Red Magic phones from Xiaomi and Nubia.
Asus ROG Phone 2 will take its power from a battery of 5800 mAh which is way bigger than ROG Phone 1’s one of 4000 mAh. Hopefully, this way, the higher-clocked SoC, higher refresh rate, and the more prominent display will adequately be powered as to give the gamer that uses the phone the best experience for a long time.
