Fortnite players have been waiting for a proper update since the last one rolled a while ago including multiple content updates. The Fortnite 9.40 version has finally been issued by Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, and it is available for download now for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One and mobile.

Fortnite remains the most famous battle royale title on PC and consoles. On mobile devices, on the other hand, PUBG Mobile outperforms Fortnite in many aspects, being the most-played battle royale game on mobile platforms.

In Fortnite 9.40, some areas of the game are changed, but this update also brings new content such as new versions of a shotgun. The Battle Royale gets full patch notes, but there is more to this update.

What’s new in Fortnite 9.40?

Due to the effectiveness of the shotguns in Fortnite, they are a complicated type of weapons and their power is always a concern for Epic Games as they need to manage it. For example, it becomes harder for them to do so when players have more than one such weapons in their inventory.

When it comes to the Tactical Shotgun, this particular weapon, the company has come up with a lot of new versions that can also be fount in Legendary variants from floor loot, supply drops, chests, vending machines, and loot carriers. The minimum damage of this weapon is of 83/87. It takes a second to do 1.5 shots and holds eight shells. Its effect gets multiplied by 2.25 if you land a headshot with it.

The Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle was brought into the game, but now its suppressed variant moved to the Vault. With that being said, for a while, you will no longer come across it. Now when the Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle, another long-range weapon, aims down sights it zooms in less. According to the developer, Epic Games, this way, the feel of this weapon and its usability are improved thanks to Fortnite 9.40 update.
