Microsoft Edge Update is Now Available with Improvements for the Picture in Picture Mode

Even though Microsoft’s Edge browser is not enjoying too much success on desktop PCs, Edge is quite popular on Android and iOS. Edge offers a wide variety of features that make it easier for smartphone users to surf the web and this is why millions of people from all over the world have downloaded and installed Edge on their smartphones. Nonetheless, today we want to present the latest update for Edge which was released earlier this morning.

Microsoft Edge Update

Microsoft is one of the world’s biggest tech/software companies and it is renowned for constantly pushing out software updates for its most important apps and services. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Edge is updated on a weekly basis. The latest update that Microsoft has released for Edge sports the build number and it weighs in at 87.02MB.

System Requirements

As previously noted, the first thing that Edge users are required to have in order to install the new update is 87.02MB of free internal storage space. Moreover, the update which is being rolled out via OTA (over the air) channels is targeted for smartphones that are running on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system but luckily, it requires a minimum of Android 4.4 KitKat in order to run without any issues.

Picture in Picture Mode

Edge offers a plethora of cool features that can’t be found on any other browsers and one of them is the Picture in Picture mode. The new update for Edge comes with a handful of software improvements that are taking the performances of the mobile browser to the next level. On the downside of things, we need to mention that the Picture in Picture mode is available only to smartphones that are running on Android 8.0 Oreo.
