Many people are surprised to hear this, but the Google Play Store is not the most important component of the Android operating system. Even though the Google Play Store might be the place where all Android fans go to whenever they want to download a new app or mobile game, Google Play Services is the one which actually holds the title of being the most important component in Google’s operating system.
What makes Google Play Services so special is the fact that it takes care of lots high-priority tasks such as making it possible for third-party apps and mobile games to receive updates directly via OTA (over the air) channels. Since the performances that Google Play Services offers are so important, no one should be surprised to find out that Google is updating it on a regular basis.
Google Play Services 17.7.85 Update
We have some great news to share with Android fans today. Google Play Services has been recently updated and the new software release is available for download to all Android fans. The new update sports the 17.7.85 version number and it can be downloaded in two different ways.
The first method is to simply wait for the update to arrive via OTA (over the air) channels. This is the method that we are advising all Android fans to use because the only thing that they need to do is to connect their smartphone to a stable Wi-Fi network.
The second method is to manually download and install the new update in the form of APK. This is a special update format and the acronym stands for “Android Package Kit”. The tricky part about installing this type of updates is that Android fans first need to enable the “Unknown Sources” option which can be found in the Settings panel
