New 16-inch MacBook Pro Would Launch In September Along With iPhone 11 Models

Apple is working on a revamped MacBook with a generous 16-inch Retina Display. It is expected that the new model will be announced in September when the company will also unveil the latest iPhone 11 models. The anticipated MacBook will feature thinner bezels as Apple plans to offer a larger panel without the need to change the form factor, which has remained quite popular.

Some sources argued that the refreshed line would not be revealed until 2021, but others claim that the announcement will come sooner than it was expected.

The 16-inch panel will offer an impressive 3072×1920 resolution with the help of a Retina LCD screen. At one point it was inferred that the Cupertino company would opt for an OLED solution, but this will not be the case. It is still a major upgrade in comparison to the latest MacBook Pro version which offers a 15.4-inch display with a resolution of 2,880×1,800.

Apple is working on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro

The premium tier of the MacBook Pro range comes with four USB-C ports and the beloved 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple may drop the headphone port as wireless headsets continue to become more popular, but that remains to be seen.

Reports offered by a reliable source claim that the new model will offer the option to pick a display size of up to 16.5-inch while, but the form factor will be quite similar to the one used in the past. A flat design, with minimal bezels and Face ID functionality, was rumored a few months ago.

To profit from the current size of the device the Cupertino giant aims to bring the screen to the borders of the device, an approach which was already seen in the case of the latest iPad Pro, which comes with a bigger screen but retains the same form-factor. The classic 13-inch and 15-inch ranges will be replaced with new 12-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch models. A 12-inch model could drop in the following months, and a 14-inch version would be a great addition to the current portfolio.
