How to fix iPad won’t connect to App Store
Check Date and time settings
To do this:
- Open Settings>General>Date and Time
- Turn off the Set Automatically option and set the date manually a year ahead
- Go to your Home screen and try opening App Store
- If you get an error message, go to Settings>General>Date and time
- Turn on Set Automatically
- Try connecting to App Store again
Sign out from iTunes and App Store
To do this:
- Open Settings>iTunes & App Store
- Click Apple ID and log out
- Enter your Apple ID and password to sign in again
Restart your iPad
To do this, press and hold the sleep/wake button and drag the slider to turn the device off. Turn it back on by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button again.
Update iOS
If your iOS version is outdated, download and install the latest version to resolve the iPad won’t connect to App Store issue. You can do this automatically, manually, or by syncing iPad via iTunes. For the latter, iTunes will check for any available software updates for every time you sync your device.
Updating iPad automatically:
- Open Settings>General>Software Update
- Tap Automatic Updates and turn them on
iPad will automatically install updates wirelessly and notify you before the update happens.
Updating iPad manually:
- Open Settings>General>Software Update
- Tap Automatic Updates and turn them off
Anytime you can check and install software updates by going to Settings>General>Software Update and the screen will show the currently installed iOS version and if there’s an available update.
Reset all settings
To do this:
- Open Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
- Confirm that you’re resetting all settings on your iPad
