Elden Ring – George R. R. Martin And FromSoftware Are Collaborating On The New Fantasy Game

Fantasy fans are ecstatic! Two of the most loved names of the genre are coming together to collaborate on a brand new special project.
A new leak suggests that George R. R. Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series that Game of Thrones was based on, is collaborating with FromSoftware, the studio that develops Dark Souls. Allegedly, the team will release a new game together, called Elden Ring.

Rumors suggest that we are going to hear more on the collaboration at this year’s E3 convention. Some believe that we are going to receive more details about Elden Ring sooner than we believed, at Microsoft’s press conference that takes place this Sunday. Until then, we don’t know much about the game, besides the title. However, we can make some assumptions. Since the creators are consecrated in this genre, we bet the action of the game takes place in a fantasy world. Elden Ring will be published by Bandai Namco, and it will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

FromSoftware was founded in 1986, but it did not receive much attention before the release of their hit dark fantasy action RPG game, Demon Souls, in 2009. Afterward, the company gained even more recognition with the release of the more popular Dark Soul trilogy. More recently, FromSoftware released a ninja action game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the VR game Déraciné.

Hayao Miyazaki, one of the biggest names in the industry, hinted his involvement in the Elden Ring project when he wrote in a blog post that he was working on a game out of Japan. Also, during an interview with The Verge, he said: “I think one of the studio’s characteristics is to embrace wholeheartedly what we feel is interesting; what we perceive to be worthwhile, cool, or beautiful; and to place these ideas at the foundation of the games we make.”
