Google Stadia, the company’s cloud gaming service, will be available starting with November 2019 in 14 countries, and among them, we also have Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Google claims that its cloud gaming service will be able of streaming video games up to 4k resolution at 60 frames per second with no additional computer hardware, having the support for high-dynamic-range from all of the data centers across the globe, if the players have a proper high-speed Internet connection.
Therefore, Google Stadia will allow you to play games on a TV, PC monitor, tablet, or a phone, and it will take care of the processing in the cloud on machines with high-end specifications. There is a catch if you want to purchase it, though. You will have to buy the so-called Founders Edition package, as the service comes along with a limited edition of the Night Blue Stadia controller, a Chromecast Ultra streaming device, and a three-month subscription to the Stadia Pro Service.
In this package you will also find a Buddy Pass so if you have a friend who wants to test the Stadia Pro for three months, now it’s the time. If you’re worried about your friend not having the rest of the kit, find out that Stadia will work with a variety of controllers and screens. Google even has Stadia controllers available for $89. The kit is available to pre-order now at $169.
Google Stadia will come in two versions: Base and Pro
With the Base version being free and having no games included, its performance will reach 1080p with stereo sound, so, while using it, it’s possible you will desire to subscribe to the Pro version to have a high-end experience. This version will be available next year, after the launch of the Pro Version in November.
With the Pro version is another story. You will pay $11.99 per month, but you will have ongoing access to a various collection of games, also having the option to buy additional games not included in the package. The games streamed will be in 4K HDR at 60 frames per second with 5.1 surround sound.
How is Stadia’s streaming technology going to work?
This question will be there until its release, along with other ones regarding the primary technical hurdle or the delay happening when player inputs will be sent to data centers located at hundreds of kilometers away.
Google Stadia will ask you to buy some games to play them using the service, but it will also have a free library of games for the Pro version’s subscribers. There were announced over 30 present and future games from publishers like Ubisoft Entertainment, Bethesda Softworks, and Square Enix, including Doom Eternal, Rage 2, Destiny 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, The Division 2, and many others.
And those games are not all of them, as many other games will be announced for Google Stadia in the proximate future from Electronic Arts, Rockstar Games, and Capcom.
