One of the most esteemed security companies which enhance and adds to its structure of security solutions every year is Bitdefender.
The company’s outputs are usually ranked at the top of the class when tested, for instance, by independent organizations such as AV Comparatives or AV Test.
There are four different Bitdefender products available, from which only one, Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition is free. However, it is hard to find the differences between each Bitdefender product, but the following analysis offers you enough data so that you can better choose the right product for you.
We will compare two different antivirus products with the company’s best line item.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free vs. Antivirus Plus
We will compare these products looking at the 2019 edition, which was recently launched.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition is free, but the Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2019 comes with a price tag of $59.99; however, discounts are often offered. Bitdefender Total Security 2019 has a price of $89.99.
Compatibility and installation
The antivirus products are compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 OS. They need systems with a minimum of 1.5 GB of RAM and 800 MB of hard disk space; however, 2 GB is better. It also requires an Intel Core Duo 2 GHz processor at least.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition’ download will come with about 360 MB of data to the local system, and Bitdefender Antivirus Plus will download approximately 450 MB of data.
The installer will attempt to install a root certificate and demands that all browsers should be closed to complete the installation.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition comes with protection against common threats; it has an antivirus module and defends the system from ransomware and web attacks, and also phishing.
The Bitdefender Antivirus Plus comes with access to a VPN with 200 MB of daily browsing as well, Password Manager, Safe Files, Search Advisor, Vulnerability Scan, Ransomware Protection, Online Banking Protection (by using a secure setting called Safepay), Wi-Fi Security Advisor, and File Shredder.
The free variant comes with the most significant bases, except for a firewall, but both Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition and Bitdefender Antivirus Plus might be enough for what you need. However, choose the one version that benefits you the most.
