Music is Everything you will Hear with the AirPods 3

The second-generation AirPods from Apple has been announced by the company earlier this month. Not even a month after its official unveiling a Taiwan released a new report that claims by the end of the year the AirPods 3 will be launched by the Cupertino-based company.

Major Upgrade?

According to a report from DigiTimes, the noise cancellation will be the major highlight of Apple’s third-generation AirPods. In high-end wireless and wired headphones, noise cancellation is a common feature, but this technology is not easy to be incorporated into them. The WH-1000XM2 and Bose QC35 2 from Sony are some of the most well-known noise-canceling headphones out there.

In order to enable the noise cancellation feature, the industry sources say the mechanical design will suffer some changes in the AirPods 3, and even the assemblers will find them harder to assemble. If we believe what the report says,  Taiwan’s Inventec will primarily assemble the AirPods 3. In addition to that, more power is also consumed by the noise cancellation which means that the battery life will be affected by a significant margin. Compared to the AirPods2, if the noise cancellation feature is activated, a much lower audio playback time will be offered in case Apple does not decide to add a larger battery to the AirPods 3.

An impressive 35 million AirPods is said by Apple to have been shipped last year which makes 75% of the global wireless headset market share, this being quite a significant percent. However, Apple might face a challenge this year. As Xiaomi and Huawei, the Cupertino-based company’s major rivals rolled their own versions of the AirPods and more are awaited from other important players, this will not come as easy as it did last year.
