The Pixel 3 proved that you could shoot incredible images with the help of single camera setup. Among the new Google Camera update features, we can find Night, Super Res Zoom, and Top Shot. The last one has saved hundreds of users, and new features are being continuously added. The latest version of the Google Camera app comes with new Photobooth functionalities.
Google Camera update comes with new features
The Photobooth feature harnesses the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify if the people in front of the camera are actively looking at the objective. Using the same methods, it can differentiate between five distinct expressions: smile, puffy check, surprise, duck face and when the tongue is out. When one of these conditions is fulfilled, it will automatically take a shot.
The team behind the app worked hard on kiss detection, which is now available. Since people who kiss won’t look at the camera or keep their eyes open in some cases, the developers had to modify the algorithm accordingly. The app will capture several shots, and each one will receive a score based on a set of criteria. The picture with the highest score will be saved.
The features are limited to the Google Camera app which can be found on the Google Play Store. If you do not own a Pixel device, you can’t install it from there, but you can use an alternate method to obtain it. Read below to find out more.
