Android 8.1 Oreo Arrives to Moto G4 Users

Even though it’s been nearly three years since Moto G4 hit the markets, Motorola has yet to forget about the smartphone. The reason why we are saying this is because Motorola has started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo to Moto G4 units in Brazil. This is amazing news for Moto G4 users because the operating system that the smartphone was running out of the box is Android 6.0 and Android 8.1 Oreo is much better.

The update is rolled out OTA (over the air) and all Moto G4 users are going to receive in the upcoming days. What we should mention about this update is that it is fairly large in size and therefore, we advise all Moto G4 users to download it over a stable Wi-Fi network so that they don’t use up all their mobile data.

Specs Overview

Now that we presented Moto G4 latest update, let’s check out the smartphone’s highlight hardware specs in order to see if Moto G4 has what it takes to be used as a daily carrier to this day.

  • Display

Moto G4 ships with a 5.5-inches display that uses IPS LCD technology. The display offers a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920p and a pixel density of 401ppi. In addition, the display has been coated in Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for extra protection.

  • CPU, GPU, and RAM

While the display might be impressive, the most important hardware part that Moto G4 has to offer is its octa-core Snapdragon 617 CPU. The CPU’s main core clocks at 1.5GHz and to make things even better, Motorola has paired the CPU with an Adreno 405 GPU. Moto G4 is available with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage space which can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.
