Ikea And Sonos To Launch Affordable Speakers: Symfonisk Collection Revealed

Ikea and Sonos have teamed up and collaborated for the past years in creating smart home audio devices. The project began in December 2017, and the first products will be revealed at Milan starting with 9 April, all through 14 April, during the exhibition of their Symfonisk collection at the Milan Design Week.

In a quest to bind together sound and light, Ikea and Sonos want to transform the house into a great mood booster, says Business Leader for IKEA Home Smart, Björn Block in Ikea’s recent press release:

Together with Sonos we wanted to combine our home furnishing knowledge with their expertise in creating great sound experiences for every room of the home, and in Milan we want you to experience the real difference that sound and light makes in your life.

High-Quality Audio at Affordable Prices

Although it sounds very fancy, you should know that Ikea and Sonos are planning to make “high-quality sound available for everyone.” This means that some of their devices will be affordable. The collection will also have a connected book-shelf speaker which will not only have an affordable price, but it will also enable multi-functional usage in your home.

As an example, the cheapest Sonos speaker is only $149. The great news is that all the Ikea speakers will be able to be integrated with the existing range of Sonos speakers, and with the smart devices in Ikea’s Tradfri range.

Sonos has also revealed a new line of speakers that can be mounted in walls, ceilings, or created for outdoors use. The also upgraded the Sonos One speaker, reviewed by PC Mag as having excellent scores on performance and versatility. The gen 2 speaker comes with better performance, a new processor, more memory, and Bluetooth Low Energy.

As for the Symfonisk speakers, expect to see them on sale in August.
