WhatsApp 2.19.53 Update – Improved “Group Calls” Functionality

WhatsApp has a massive user base of more than one billion monthly active users and therefore, the developers who are in charge of the app can’t take any chances when it comes to bugs or security issues. Even though WhatsApp might be the world’s most popular app, some issues still manage to slip by and here is where APK updates come in and save the day.

For those who are unfamiliar with the term APK, this stands for “Android Package Kit”. Therefore, this type of updates are exclusive to Android powered smartphones. Not only that, but there is a trick to getting APK updates. The trick to downloading and installing APK updates is that all users are required to enable the “Unknown Sources” option in their smartphone’s “Settings” panel and then to manually get them. Without any further ado, let’s see what the new update for WhatsApp brings.

WhatsApp 2.19.53 APK

WhatsApp fans should be happy to know that the latest 2.19.53 APK comes with a handful of software tweaks that help the app perform better than usual. Moreover, the update also introduces a couple of bug fixes that take care of known issues which caused the UI (user interface) to be unresponsive. Considering that the UI is one of the most important components of WhatsApp, this makes the new APK update a high priority download.

New “Group Calls” Feature

Leaving the software tweaks and bug fixes aside, the new 2.19.53 APK for WhatsApp also introduces a new feature. The feature is a call button that makes it easier for users to start group calls. The button is simply called “New group call” and it can be found in the calls tab. What’s great about the new group calls feature of WhatsApp is the fact that it supports up to four participants.
