GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Leaked Benchmark Shows Better Performance than the GTX 1070

Even though so close to being released, the latest mid-range graphics card from by NVIDIA – the GTX 1660 Ti, has been leaked in the Final Fantasy XV benchmark database.

Spotted by @TUM_APISAK and posted on Twitter, we saw that the GTX 1660 will be slightly better than the standard GTX 1070, and show equal results when compared to the GTX 980 Ti – at 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, high-quality details.

Even though GTX 1070 almost stands its ground against the upcoming graphics cards, wccftech notes that this leak is close to release, so this benchmark result could be for the non-final drivers, “so the performance will probably improve slightly once the final and polished drivers are out for everyone to use.”

Price Versus Performance: GTX 1660 Ti and AMD Radeon VII

Wccftech’s Usman Pirzada notes in his article that if NVIDIA prices its 1660 Ti correctly, it could become a crowd favorite, considering it brings decent performance and it can easily replace a GTX 1070.

The price should be somewhere around $270, which might make this an entry-level favorite that can pull off the performance of a 1070 and a little more over that! Compared to the Radeon VII – which scored 5.283, the GTX 1660 Ti’s 5,000 score is not far off, which makes it worth the money, considering AMD’s Radeon VII is $699.

The GTX 1660 Ti seems to be an impressive graphics card, and not just by looking at the Final Fantasy XV benchmark, but also looking back at a previous leak in an Ashes of the Singularity benchmark, where it was 20% faster than a GTX 1060, again showing similar results as the GTX 1070, which backs up the latest leak.

The GTX 1660 Ti will be released this week, and we are waiting for the launch price and see how it really performs in more benchmarking tests in its final form.
