What is the total profit that Minecraft mobile managed to generate?
The popular game Minecraft managed to gather as much as $110 million from both the purchase price of the app in the Google Play Store or the App Store and the in-app purchases. This means that the mobile game had a 7% growth compared to the previous year, when the mobile version of Minecraft generated almost $130 million profit.
Sensor Tower has mentioned that since the moment when the game was released on mobile devices in 2014, it has managed to generate almost half a billion dollars across the whole world, which is quite an impressive figure. We definitely cannot wait to see what the future holds for Minecraft.
A huge part of the revenue comes from US players
The players that contributed the most to the revenue of Minecraft mobile last year are those located in the United States. The US players managed to generate 48% of the total earnings. This doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise, given the fact that the game is quite popular amongst young US consumers, on all platforms where the game is available. Based on the information that we have from Sensor Tower, the mobile version of Minecraft is estimated to have generated approximately $30 million worldwide only in the first quarter of 2018.
So what other countries contributed to the total profit? Well, the second country in line when it comes to spending money in Minecraft mobile in 2018 was Great Britain, which brought $7.3 million in revenue or 6.6%. The third one was Japan, which generated 5% of the total revenue or $5.5 million.
