Nearly everyone who owns an Android powered smartphone uses WhatsApp. This is the world’s most popular chatting app and the reason behind this is simple, WhatsApp offers a plethora of features that make it more fun for people to communicate. To make things even better, WhatsApp is always improving through APK updates and, in fact, a brand-new one has recently arrived.
WhatsApp 2.19.22 Beta Update
The latest update for WhatsApp sports the 2.19.22 build number and it’s available to beta testers. However, enlisting in the beta program for WhatsApp is quite simple and anyone can do it in less than five minutes. To top it all off, the only thing that beta testers need to do in exchange for receiving access to the latest updates and features for WhatsApp is to provide the developers with feedback on unexpected bugs.
What’s New?
As it is the case with nearly all WhatsApp updates, this one comes with a brand-new feature. The feature that is being introduced by the new update makes it easier for people to start group voice and video calls since people can do it just by tapping on the call button that has been placed in the groups UI (user interface). Therefore, the groups panel of WhatsApp will now feature a new button called “New group call” which supports up to four participants.
Android Package Kit
We previously mentioned that this update can only be downloaded and installed by WhatsApp beta users. However, there is another restriction that we need to go over. This is an APK update which means that it can only be installed on an Android powered smartphones. APK stands for “Android Package Kit” and all WhatsApp users who want to get their hands on the latest update need to install it manually from WhatsApp’s official website.
