Apple has just released beta versions of iOS 12.2, watchOS 5.2, macOS 10.14.4 and tvOS 12.2 to developers. These releases are available through the developer portal of the company and over-the-air software update mechanisms for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Mac and iPod touch.

The previous update, iOS 12.1.3 focused on security improvements and bug fixes, but the newest update, iOS 12.2 will introduce some minor new changes and features. Major new versions will most likely follow later this year. Together with the release of this new OS, we might also get an idea about what to expect from future rumored new iPads. There have been speculations that the tech giant is working on a 10-inch iPad that would replace the 9.7-inch iPad that we have now. iPad mini 4 might also be replaced by a rumored low-priced iPad mini 5.
Even though this beta version of the latest iOS is available only for developers at the moment, the public should soon have access to it as well. It is known that Apple usually releases these beta versions to the public for free, only a few days after they were available to developers.
What kind of improvements should we expect?
Let’s also remember that the beta version doesn’t reflect the final one, therefore not all the features will be available in this early iOS update. At the moment, we don’t really have many details about these beta operating systems. We only know for now that they include some improvements and fixes. Still, we do know that both iOS 12.2 and macOS 10.14.4 will bring Apple News to users from Canada, in both French and English. Also, it seems that third-party iPhone apps will now be able to access some heart rate notifications that are provided by the Apple Watch.
