It seems that Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9 are finally getting upgraded to the latest operating system, Android Pie. According to SamMobile, both India and South Korea are now getting the new OS.
Android Pie has reached two important markets
Based on a recent post made by SamMobile, the Korean and Indian markets are now getting the most recent OS. Users who already had Pie beta on their devices will need to download only around 150MB, while those who previously had Android Oreo will have to download a 1.6GB update. Korea is apparently getting the Android Pie update for both beta and non-beta users on the Galaxy S9 and Note 9, while users from India on Oreo might need to wait just a little bit more for the Galaxy Note 9 update on their phones.
The Android Pie update should soon reach everyone who has a Galaxy S9 or Note 9
Until now, only the above-mentioned Samsung devices from Germany and the UAE have received the update to Android Pie, which comes with a revamped OneUI. The new user interface supports the system-wide dark mode, as well as a layout that is meant to make large screens more useful and easier to manage.
In case you live in one of these countries and you still haven’t received the update to your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Note 9, you can get the update manually. All you need to do is go to “Settings”, then select ” Software Update” and lastly select “Download updates manually”.
For those of you that live in other countries, you may follow the same procedure from time to time if you are impatient and want to check if the newest update is available for your phone.
Also, the owners of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 will receive the update to Android Pie later this year, so they need to have a little bit more patience.
