Pokémon GO: This Is What You Need To Know As A Beginner

Pokémon GO evolved a lot in the last years, and it has become an experience that connects players. If you haven’t joined Pokémon GO trainers yet, it is not too late to do it. We are going to explain the basics to you, so you won’t find it hard to get the hang of it.

Catch Pokémon

If we were to reduce the entire game to one single part, it would be “catching Pokémon”. This is the main purpose of the game. Obviously, if you are trying to catch Pokémon with higher level combat points, you will discover that it is a bit trickier.

Powerful Pokémon are more difficult to catch. This means that you will have to spend more time, balls and effort in order to get them. You can use berries to increase your chances of catching Pokémon. In order to catch one, try to wait until it stays still and then hit the ball at it, making sure that it hits it as the inner circle comes to full closure.

Candy

In order to level up your Pokémon you will need to use candy. However, you should know that different Pokémon species require different types of candy. You usually get candy by capturing Pokémon. You can also gain more if you have a buddy Pokémon. You will get candy for that Pokémon after walking a certain distance.

CP and IV

Combat Points (CP) and individual values (IVs) are used to differentiate Pokémon. You want to catch those who have higher CP as it will be a lot easier to make them level up. As you level up as a trainer (above level 30), the Pokémon you find will have a higher CP. Vs are also essential because they show you how powerful your Pokémon is (or could be). The highest IV level (for any stat) is 15.
