Rockstar may have recently released Red Dead Redemption 2 but millions of gamers continue to play GTA 5 and GTA Online. 2018 was a good year for the game as it received consistent patches and content updates.
By the end of the year over 100 million copies were sold, marking a new landmark for the popular series. Cheaters and modders faced a hard time as Rockstar sued several distributors that were selling hacks. Some were displeased by the action, arguing that if you bought a game it is reasonable to play it how you like but Rockstar reminded them that the use of cheats in multiplayer is against the terms of service.
The release of Red Dead Redemption 2 put quite a bit of pressure on Rockstar as the studio worked hard in order to deliver a memorable experience. This has certainly affected the DLC schedule for GTA 5 since they released less content in comparison to previous years.
What we want:
More DLC
A studio representative has confirmed in the past that Rockstar plans to support GTA 5 and GTA Online for the foreseeable future. The game is still generating a lot of money be selling shark cards and it is likely that Rockstar will keep the faucet open until it runs dry. 2018 saw some great DLCs with the release of the After Hours and Arena War expansions which brought a much-needed breath of fresh air.
Some hope that the studio will push a map expansion at some point but that would require an extended amount of time that would push back the release period. It could are during the summer or later.
RDR2 crossovers
More crossovers would benefit everyone as players are able to gain exclusive items. This would allow Rockstar to bring more Wild West items in GTA.
Dreaming of GTA 6
The web is already filled with fake articles that repeat the same rumors over and over. While Rockstar may opt to release GTA 6 at some point in the future we should wait for the official announcement.
