Samsung has recently published the Pie update schedule earlier this week and some fans may not be very excited since a long time will pass until the update will be available for their devices.
Google has released the update globally almost four months ago. Select manufacturers, including Samsung, received access to early builds since March. The Korean company enjoyed plenty of time with the update but the reworking of the User Interface in the form of the updated One UI is an arduous project that requires time in order to perfect.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are will be able to enjoy it in January 2019. The Note 9 will get in February while the older Galaxy S8, s8+ and Note 8 will be able to download it in March. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Tab A 2017 and Tab Active will need lots of patience since the update for the devices will become available in October 2019.
Samsung has been quite busy in 2019 and this may explain the somehow slow timeline of the updates. The company released the Note 9 to thunderous applause as users and critics praised the performance and looks of the device.
Earlier in November, the company teased the long-awaited foldable device that was announced several years ago. The foldable smartphone, called Samsung Galaxy X, may be released later in 2019. Samsung is also working on the highly-anticipated Galaxy S10, which will mark the ten-year anniversary of the Galaxy line. It is expected that the new device will pack in bleeding-edge features.
It is already known that Samsung will use the latest Snapdragon chip that was recently released by Qualcomm. This means that the device can handle the 5G cellular data standard, a feature that would make it even more remarkable in a market where most competitors offer 4G support even for modest devices.
The new Pie update will add several useful features that should improve performance across all the compatible devices.
