The jailbreak community is living happy times. While everyone believed that jailbreak was gone for good, developers proved us that recent iOS versions and iPhones can be jailbreaked as well. It appears that despite Apple’s efforts, jailbreakers prevailed.
More than that, it appears that a jailbreak for iOS 12.1.1 is on its way as well. Ian Beer from Google’s Project Zero appeared in Apple’s security content document for iOS 12.1.1. It appears that he managed to identify a kernel level bug. This could be good news for the jailbreaking community, as it could mean that there is a chance to reveal a public iOS 12 jailbreak.
The bug was identified as “CVE-2018-4461” and it is believed that it is capable to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Most Apple devices are available for this, including iPhone 5s and later, iPad Air and later, and iPod touch 6th generation.
The Safari exploit
Recently, a Safari exploit for iOS 12.1 was released. The exploit was made public by Linus Henze on his Twitter account. It appears within Safari for iOS and macOS. The versions affected are iOS 12.1 and below.

Please don’t do evil stuff with this,” read his tweet.
The exploit could be exactly what developers need in order to come up with a new jailbreak version. This means that it could be possible to liberate devices directly from Safari. The tweet posted by Henze has more than 600 likes and 300 retweets, which means that he got the attention of the jailbreaking community.
