The latest series of Xiaomi’s smartphones, Mi 8, were launched in May in China. Amongst the devices that the company announced were its flagship Mi 8 and its different versions, as well as its budget variant, Mi 8 SE. At the present moment, all of them use Android Oreo that will soon be replaced by Android Pie. However, a recent report suggests that Xiaomi Mi 8 SE will soon receive the upcoming Android Q.
Xiaomi Mi8 SE runs Android Q on the Geekbench listing
According to the recent report by Nashville Chatter, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE made its appearance on the Geekbench listing, running the next gen Android Q. Few days earlier, it was reported that Google’s Pixel 3 XL has also been spotted on Geekbench using Android Q. This seems to prove that Google is in the process of developing the new version of its operating system for mobile devices, which is by far the most widely-used of its kind in the world. Going back to Mi 8 SE, the screenshot published by Nashville Chatter showed that this device scored 1830 in single-core and 5819 in multi-core benchmarks.
What do we know about Android Q
Although we do not know anything about the upcoming Android Q, it has been reported that amongst its features we might find an option that will allow us to use two apps at the same time thanks to the split-screen mode. Present day versions of the Android operating system also support the split-screen mode, but only one of the screens can be active at a time.
