WhatsApp iOS Beta Available to Download – Play Videos Directly from the Notifications Panel

You can watch videos directly from the push notification as long as you have the iOS beta2.18.102.5 version installed. The team behind the app wants to test the capacity of playing videos that are sent by the user right from the notifications panel.

According to a tweet by WABetaInfo, the fact that you could view videos directly from the push notification can be available for any WhatsApp beta app of version 2.18.102.5 that’s installed.

People can expect it to appear in the App Store, but we don’t know for sure when. We’re also asking ourselves when it will happen for Android?

If we are to remember, WhatsApp made its beta version official for all the iOS clients this month. Before, only a few users could get access to that. At present, any person can register to become a beta tester for this app on iOS, and they can see what the features are before the app gets released for everyone.

What’s the update about?

The app, together with the new feature, will make it happen – you won’t have to open another app to play videos when someone sends you a video. You’ll be able to play it right there, in the notifications panel.

Before all of this was a thing, WhatsApp got updated with a bolster for previewing media right from the notifications panel. The feature is called “notification extension” and is available for those versions of iOS 10 or older. This app lets users of iOS to view images (and also GIFs) from the notification panel directly. You can either use a 3D touch, or a swipe left on notification, and then tap View to preview the media right from there.
