During its last event planned for this year, Apple has introduced a new iPad Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini. All new devices presented at the conference are available for preorder, with November 7th being the shipping date. Let’s take a closer look at all key points of the event that took place in New York.
iPad Pro
The Face ID support that works in both landscape and portrait modes has been introduced on the refreshed iPad Pro. Another noticeable change is the lack of home button. The tablet’s display remains at 12.9-inch, its body, however, is much thinner and smaller compared to the older version. Also, iPad Pro supports gestures, just like the recent iPhone X does.
The new iPad Pro is said to be performing 35 percent faster and has 1,000 times faster graphics thanks to the addition of the A12X Bionic chip. While this tablet has no headphone jack, its USB-C port can be used to connect the device to iPhone so that we can charge it.
When it comes to the pricing, $649 can get us the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and we will pay from $799 for 11-inch and $999 for 12.9-inch.
MacBook Air
Finally, after many years the MacBook Air gets its much needed updates. This device will now have the 13.3-inch Retina display, 50 percent less bezels, Touch ID and the third gen butterfly keyboard. The 20 percent larger trackpad also sees some improvements, as it now has 25 percent louder stereo speakers and build-in Siri. When it comes to connectivity, the MacBook Air has two USB-C ports and the headphone jack.
The inside of the MacBook Air has also been refreshed, as this device now has an 8th-gen Intel dual-core CPU, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1.5TB SSD of storage. Weighing 2,75 pounds, it is also lighter than its predecessor, which had 2.96 pounds.
The price of the new MacBook Air starts at $1,199 for the version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD of storage.
Mac Mini
Another device that has not been updated for a long time is the Mac Mini, whose new version is equipped with the 8th-gen quad-core or 6-core processors that make it perform up to five times faster. It can use up to 64GB of RAM and up to 2TB SSD of an all-flash storage. The Mac Mini has many connectivity options: four USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, two USB-A ports and an Ethernet port.
The price for the basic model of this device starts at $799, which gets us the Mac Mini with the quad-core Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD of storage.
