No Fallout 76 for The Nintendo Switch – Confirmed by Bethesda

Bethesda has been known for a huge number of titles that it published for the Nintendo Switch, but it was recently confirmed that Fallout 76 will not make its appearance on this popular console. According to Pete Hines, Bethesda marketing executive, who expressed his opinion during a panel at PAX Aus on Friday, the launch of the game on Nintendo’s platform simply “wasn’t doable.”

Other titles could be still released for Nintendo Switch

The fact that Fallout 76 will not be available for this console does not mean that other games will not be taken under consideration for the Switch release. Hines said that there are many factors that decide whether a title will make its appearance on Switch or not. According to him, the company’s management allows its development teams to make their own decisions regarding games they create, including the choice of the most suitable platforms. He said, “the Switch is something I can say with certainty that it’s a part of every conversation with every dev we have now about what we’re doing going forward because we consider it to be a viable platform. If the game will work on it, we want it to be on every platform possible. Fallout 76 is not because it just wasn’t doable”.

Nintendo Switch will see the next Wolfenstein

Fallout 76 is not the only title that will not be released for Switch, as some time ago we learned from Matt Firor, the president of ZeniMax Online Studios, that we will not be able to play The Elder Scrolls Online using this very successful console.

However, Hines mentioned during the panel that the next Wolfenstein title will be released for Switch. At the moment we do not know what it means exactly, as the new title, Wolfenstein: Youngblood has so far been only confirmed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. However, the third standalone Wolfenstein game will be released at some point in the future, so Hines either had this one on his mind, or maybe even both new titles.

Bethesda’s games on Switch are highly successful

According to Hines, Bethesda’s games that were released for Nintendo Switch are earning a lot of money for the company. The list of titles will be even more expanded soon, as The Elder Scrolls Legends and Doom Eternal are set to join Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, Skyrim and Doom.
