iPad Mini, which has not been updated since 2015, could be unveiled by Apple during its event that will take place on October 30th in New York. Moreover, it is likely that the upcoming iPad Mini 5 will be the cheapest tablet that Apple has to offer.
iPad Mini 5 could be as cheap as $300
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at financial services group TF International Securities, the next iPad Mini will have a lower-cost panel and an upgraded processor.
In the opinion of another expert, Daniel Ives, who is the Managing Director of Equity Research at Wedbush Securities, the price of this upcoming device will start at $300 or £230. He said that “$300 for the low-end price point for the Mini could be the horizon as Apple is aggressively looking to capture demand with this new iPad Mini”. Ives explained that “lower price points are key here to catalyze customer demand”. He also added that more advanced versions of iPad Mini 5 could be priced at $350-380.
Other rumors surrounding iPad Mini 5
When it comes to the design of the next iPad Mini, it is rumored that it might lose the bezels and home button and get a Face ID feature instead, as we were able to see on the iPhone X. The lower-cost panel mentioned above could be the LCD display that we know from the iPhone XR.
